Policy Week 2026
Frequently Asked Questions
9th – 13th March 2026 | Sydney
Things To Know
Why can’t anyone attend all sessions?
We are running more than 32 sessions, many of them concurrently. No one, regardless of seniority or profile, can attend everything. There is no “ticket” for the event. The event is designed for depth, not breadth. Participants are expected to focus on the sessions where their expertise is most relevant and where they can contribute meaningfully.
Why might I only attend one session?
Each session is built for niche expertise. If you are involved in a single session, it reflects that your knowledge is critical to that specific discussion. We prioritise focused, high quality engagement over broad or passive attendance.
Why is there no ticket sale?
Attendance is by invitation or approved application. This allows us to curate discussions based on expertise and relevance rather than general access. Every participant is there for a clear reason and a defined contribution.
How do you choose who attends?
We prioritise individuals whose experience closely aligns with, or meaningfully intersects, the topic being discussed. The objective is substantive dialogue, not audience size.
What if I’m not readily identifiable?
If we cannot clearly understand your role or expertise through publicly available professional history, such as LinkedIn, it becomes difficult to assess suitability. Early engagement helps. For broader or indirect participation, industry associations often act as effective conduits into these discussions.
Who decides roundtable attendees?
Roundtables are limited to approximately 25 to 35 participants, subject to room capacity. Attendance is curated by the session hosts, who determine relevance based on the specific topic and intended outcomes.
Why are the rooms small?
This is intentional. We are optimising for informed, sophisticated discussion rather than large scale networking or sales driven activity. Smaller rooms support higher quality engagement and more rigorous exchange.
Why is this event part of an advisory business?
The event extends our boutique advisory work and is one of the ways we facilitate information exchange and informed debate across the sector. For those seeking broad representation or ongoing participation across the ecosystem, industry associations play a complementary role.
Are you an association or a large events business?
No. We are not an association and we do not have members. We are also not a volume driven events business. The model is deliberately selective and outcome focused.
What if a category feels underrepresented?
It is not possible to include large numbers from every category without diluting discussion quality. Participation is balanced carefully. While many attendees come from scaled or enterprise organisations, innovators and builders are present throughout the programme. The distinction is not size, but relevance and the ability to contribute.
How do you ensure diverse representation if attendance is limited?
We actively engage across innovators, enterprises, regulators and service providers. Where direct attendance is not feasible, associations play an important role in conveying broader industry perspectives. Participation is reviewed continuously to ensure discussions remain balanced, informed and relevant.

Format and Structure
What kind of event is Policy Week?
Policy Week is a curated series of industry, policy and regulatory discussions. It is not a traditional conference and does not include exhibition booths, sales pitches or generic panel programming.
Are the sessions public or private?
Both. Some sessions are public-facing. Many are closed-door and invite-only.
Is there a virtual or livestream option?
No. Policy Week is in-person only.
Will the event be recorded?
No. Sessions are not recorded, livestreamed or rebroadcast.
Dress Code
Is there a dress code?
Yes. The dress code throughout Policy Week is business attire. Networking events require business casual attire.
Roundtables, Selection and Capacity
Do roundtable sessions overlap?
Yes. Many roundtable sessions run in parallel across different venues and times.
Can I apply for multiple roundtables?
You may apply for more than one roundtable, but do not apply for all sessions. If you apply for too many sessions it will reduce the likelihood of being approved for any. Relevance, balance and room dynamics are prioritised.
How should I choose which roundtables to apply for?
Only apply for sessions that are directly relevant to your experience, role or genuine area of interest. Roundtables are curated to support informed and constructive discussion.
Who decides who attends each roundtable?
Each roundtable host has final say over their attendee list. Applications are reviewed jointly but hosts determine final participation.
Are there limits on attendance numbers?
Yes. All event locations have strict capacity limits. Once a session reaches capacity, no additional attendees can be accommodated.
How will I know which sessions I’m confirmed for?
You will receive a Lu.ma confirmation email outlining the specific roundtables and sessions you have been approved to attend. Approval for one session does not imply approval for others.
Speaking and Contributions
Can I apply to speak?
Speaker applications are closed.
Can I still nominate a speaker?
Yes. Speaker nominations remain open by email. All nominations are reviewed but not all can be accommodated. Contact us HERE
What if I don’t want to be on stage?
Many contributors participate from the room rather than on stage. Policy Week values informed discussion as much as formal speaking roles.
Sponsorship and Partnerships
Is sponsorship available?
Sponsorship is closed.
Can I still enquire about sponsorship?
Yes, but only by email and only if the enquiry includes a confirmed budget and clear involvement requirements. General expressions of interest will not be progressed.
What does sponsorship involve?
Policy Week sponsorship is focused on supporting specific discussions or sessions. It does not include booths, mass branding or lead generation activities.

I’m thinking of running a side event. What should I do?
If you are considering running a side event, please reach out to the organisers early to discuss alignment, timing and messaging. The organisers reserve the right to withdraw invitations or remove participants from Policy Week events where conduct, promotion or side activity undermines the integrity of the week.
Media, Confidentiality and Conduct
Will media present?
Media participation is limited and varies by event. All media attendance requests should be directed to the organisers for review.
Can I quote or share what is said?
Some sessions operate under Chatham House Rule. Where this applies, information may be used but comments must not be attributed.
Is there a code of conduct?
Yes. All participants are expected to engage professionally and respectfully throughout the event. This includes contributing constructively to discussions, respecting differing perspectives and observing any confidentiality guidelines that apply. Behaviour that detracts from the quality or integrity of the event may result in an invitation being withdrawn or a participant being asked to leave at the discretion of the organisers.
